Community sports, We're doing outdoor football tournament year 7-10.

What have u learnt/done so far? 

We've sent an email to Mr.Hillard for requesting an equipments such as cones and soccer ball.

How does this help you achieve your passion project? 

It helps us by providing us the equipments that we need for the sport that were doing which is football.

What is your next step? 

Were going to make a eqiupment list and figure out how we gonn run the event.

What evidence do you have that this is something you need to do ? 

Because primary doesn't know to play football well, this will also help them to make new friends

Mining is more important than the environment

I strongly disagree because i believe that we should take care of our nature,
because these is where we live.

Abusing the nature isn’t right because it can affect a lot of things like pollution,
because if there isn’t  enough tree to clean and to make the air nice and fresh it’ll make our climate hotter than before.
It can affect our ozone layer it will make it more thinner and because of lack of fresh air that we breathe in we can get sick because of it .

Other thing is  because of lack of trees,
some trees cant consumed too much water that comes from the rain because of this it can cause flood and landslide,
it can affect the people who lived to the place that flood and to the place that there’s a landslide.

The other reason that we should take care of out mother nature is because of the animals,
it can affect them because we’re destroying their home,
and if that happens a lot of animals might die because they don’t have an habitat to live in.

These are the few reason for us to take care our nature.

Engineering introduction to the lathe.

Today we've  been introduced to the Lathe, we learned some parts of it and  basic things about it , like how to turn it off and on we also learned how to change the speed of the spindle, and how to adjust the tool post. Our teacher also showed us how to use the emergency off, he also demonstrate how to drill and and facing an object. We also got told to always brush the machine before and after using it to keep it clean, and to make sure that its off after we use it.

CARR Licenses

There should be no license or restriction on hunting

There should be no license or restrictions on hunting?.

I don’t agree to this because if there’s no license or restriction on hunting, the people are gonna be greedy and kill the animals they want.

Because of this the population of animals will immediately decrease due to the people who hunt everyday to feed their family, some people hunt and kill animals  to sell the animal’s meat , skin, horn, feathers etc.

If there’s no license on hunting the endangered species will be completely gone and the other animals will be endangered.

I believe that we should maintain and increase the population of endangered animals for the next generation so they can see the beauty of these animals, so removing the license and restrictions on hunting ain’t a good idea.

Making a mistake can affect a lot of things.

Why does everyone have differing spiritual well-being ? Because every person has their own goals, beliefs, value etc.

Safety (Bench Drill)l -   In terms of using bench drills u need to have a partner to help u switch  off the drill  if something bad happened to you.You also need to wear safety glasses to protect your eye in any piece of metal might get to your eye.

Safety (Bench Buffing Machine) - In using polishing machine in order to be safe u need to wear face shield to protect your whole face because your  metal might hit your face during the polishing

 What I've done the the F shape is I measured a piece of metal then i cleaned it using sand paper   and i cut it using hack saw then I put blue layout fluid so i can see my marking easily then I measured the gaps equally where i used ruler and a vernier to get a accurate measure after that i did the same thing again to make the other side

Are students addicted to their phone ? Is it a problem?

I feel that i'm not sure if students are addicted to their phones. Because some of people doesn't have a phone and they focusing to their school work and family but I do agree that some of people are addicted to their phone. For example some people that i know is more interested in reading books and  i know some people are kinda addicted to their phone because they always use it during class some of them got caught, but they're still doing it and the last example is people do listen to their music every so i'm not sure if that is addiction or not . This is why i feel that i'm not sure.

How has Technology changed the way we do things

Technology has change from before and now , it help us to do our every day activities. Because the technology made our work easier and faster and it allowed us to do things differently. For example the technology changed the way we send a mail or to someone and now we use our the apps in our device like Gmail, Facebook and messenger. The technology also changed the way we read story because now we used our phones and laptop to read stuff. And the technology help us to improve the way we treat the sick people because before we used to use herbs  but now we have pills, and medication treatment to help the patient to heal faster. These three examples are just a few ways to how technology has changed the way we do things .

We've done a Gantt chart too in this class with is Wood Technology, we planned about making a boat. What we did is we put a time in our each steps, each box represent a 30 minutes so two box is equivilent to 1 hour. After we build the boat we decided to show our Prediction of our boat and the actual time that we've done the step the yellow thing represent my prediction and the arrows are my actual time , here's the Gantt chart that we did.

What is your writing about? I wrote about the The Atlantic Slave Trade were the europeans started the slave trade.
 What did you find the most interesting about this topic ? What i found interesting in this topic is where the slaves using their own song to communicate to their mates and the thing that how the slave trade started.
Out of 10, how much did you like or dislike the topic ?   I'd say that ill rate it 9 because i found i interesting where i found out how the slave trade started in the world and how they treated the slaves before.

The Atlantic Slave trade is a horrible and cruel system, Where they sell the africans to turn them into slaves.They succeed doing slavery because the europeans managed to used  sale of guns and weapons to purchase the slaves of African kings. For example the europeans is taking the african men, children, womens nor babies forcely to make the slaves. The next passage is awful and crucial.

After the first passage. The slaves were taken,the europeans contained the  slaves under the ship,where they are laying next to each. The slaves in the boat are starving, other europeans make them dance so they can maintain the shape of their body .They get punished if they tried to escape or if they try to fight back . For Example  some of them tried to escape,because of this they got whipped to death and got thrown out of the boat . A lot of people died in this passage this passage called the middle passage.

Once they got in their destination, this is  the time where rich people were waiting to buy the slaves. The slaves would work for them sunrise to sunset.  Rich people bought them to work to their farm tobacco, and picking cotton where they get whipped by their master, if they didn’t get enough cotton and  tobacco and they praise those who got a lot. After they harvest the cotton and tobacco they export this stuff to Europe. Because of this cruel system some of them made up their own song where they express their  feelings and they also sing a song to communicate to each other if they’re planning to escape. So they planned to run away and they used the Underground railroad to escape.

In TEM we learnt about the classification of metal,characteristics of metal and safety.
  

We learnt about three kinds of metal;

*ferrous metal -Non-Ferrous metal do not contain iron, they’re also no magnetic, they are also generally more expensive than ferrous metal. Example of Non Ferrous metal Lead,Copper,Zinc,Brass,Electrical Cable,Aluminium alloy, nickel,and titanium.

*Non-ferrous metal - Most ferrous metal do not contain Iron. Ferrous metal are magnetic.They have small amounts of other metals ,to give the required properties.Example of Ferrous metal are Cast iron, mild steel, medium carbon steel, High carbon steel and high speed metal

*alloy- Alloy is a mixture of a metal and another element. Alloy are defined by a metallic bonding character. It’s also may be a solid solution of metal element.An alloy may be a solid solution of metal element or a mixture of metallic phases.

In the characteristics of metal we learnt about.

Hardness- Ability of a material to resist penetration or scratching  

Ductility -  Ability of a material to  be drawn into wires.

Brittleness - A material is brittle, when subjected to stress.Brittle materials absorb relatively little energy prior to fracture, even those of high strength.

Toughness- Property of a material where it can absorb energy before actual fracture.

Elasticity- property due to which metal regains its original dimension on removal of load

The slave trade triangle is a historical indicating trade among three ports or regions.The first passage is the voyage from Europe to Africa, the cargo carried are guns and other weapons. The middle passage is where the africans were  taken to the Caribbean and sold.The Third passage is where all the cotton tobacoo and other  are put back  on the ships and sent to Europe they can sell them.

Explain the feeling that you get when you listen to this song ? The beat of the song is happy  but when you listen to its lyrics its kinda depressing.

What kind of information about slavery did you learn from these song ?  That slave is working so hard to live that they want to rest but they cant because if they rest they will get whip.

What can you relate to any of these songs?  That singing will help you to express what you feeling 

What do you think the slaves are talking about in these songs? That they want to rest but they cant, and that they want the sun to come down so they'll stop working so they can have a rest.

  In past weeks we prepared and plan how we gonna build the boat we learned how to measure and stuff and we made a planning chart board where we put time step by step.
